Deepak’s (ultra-ambitious) Spiritual Checklist

The fourth and final week of Deepak Chopra’s “Healing the Whole Self” workshop is about spirit, aka the soul, the true self or consciousness.

Deepak says spirit is where we connect to the “infinite field of potentiality that gives rise to your mind, your body and the universe.”

I can dig that. I’m less confident, however, about keeping up with the Spiritual Housekeeping Checklist below that he recommends. It sounds like a lot. What do you think?

Meditation: Take time each day to sit in stillness and practice present-moment awareness.

The Soul Questions: Every day, ask yourself: Who am I? What do I want? What am I grateful for? What is my purpose in life? (Seriously?! Every day?!)

Connection: Connect with yourself and your loved ones daily.

Creativity: Engage your imagination and originality each day.

Journaling: Take five minutes every day to be introspective and jot down your innermost thoughts. (This sentence just cracks me up. I guess I just never thought of “jot down” and “innermost thoughts” going together.)

Compassionate acts: Commit to carrying out small acts of compassion and kindness each day.

Truthful speech: Practice honesty and openness with your words.

Play: Keep it light; take time to “activate your inner child.”
